🤔 What are YOU doing right now? (I'm learning English! 😉)
⏱️ Right Now! — am / is / are + verb-ing
Use the present continuous for actions that are happening now. Form it with the verb be and a verb + -ing.
playing.
reading.
Spelling tricks: most verbs just add -ing (play → playing). Verbs ending in -e drop the e (come → coming, write → writing). Short verbs like run, swim, sit double the last letter (run → running, swim → swimming).

Put a verb in the machine and watch it come out with -ing — and the spelling rule it used!
🚫 Negatives — I'm Not, He Isn't, They Aren't
To make a negative, put not after be. There are two short forms for he, she, it, we, you and they — both are correct!
🚫 Two Short Forms
- I'm not coming. (only one form!)
- He's not / He isn't coming.
- They're not / They aren't coming.
✅ Statements
- I'm coming.
- She's reading a book.
- We're playing soccer.
Never "I amn't" ❌ — say I'm not. And don't forget be: "She reading" ❌ → "She's reading" ✅.
