👩🍳 The Imperative — Giving Instructions
Use the imperative to give commands or make requests. It's the base form of the verb — no subject, no -s!
✅ Do It!
- "Cut the vegetables."
- "Slice the bread."
- "Give me the vegetables."
- "Pass me the knife."
🚫 Don't Do It!
- "Don't cut the vegetables too small."
- "Don't cut them so big!"
- "Don't eat the cheese yet!"
👨🍳 Chef Says!

🙏 Please! — Polite Instructions
Add please to make an imperative more polite. It can come at the beginning or at the end of the sentence.
⬅️ At The Beginning
- "Please give me the cheese."
➡️ At The End
- "Help me, please."
Put a comma (,) before please when it's at the end: "Pass me the knife, please." No comma when it's at the beginning.
✨ The Politeness Machine
Choose an instruction, then make it polite — please at the start or at the end. Watch the comma!

🎙️ Now, Record It!
Act out your conversation out loud (alone with both voices, or with a friend) and record yourselves. Then listen back!
