❓ Asking about health
- "Are you OK?" · "How do you feel?"
- "What's wrong?" = What's the problem?
- "What's wrong with her?" — "She has the flu."
- "I hope you feel better soon!"
🧩 be or have?
- be + adjective: I'm sick · He's tired · She's stressed out
- have + illness: I have a cold · She has the flu · He has a headache
- He/she → has, never "haves"!
In your notebook: "I don't smoke." Smoking is very bad for your health — for your heart and your lungs. Healthy people don't smoke, and they ask their friends and family not to smoke too.

👀 The Five Sense Verbs
Some verbs talk about our five senses. After a sense verb, we use an adjective (delicious, great, beautiful…) to give our opinion. Click a card to hear it.
✅ The rule
- sense verb + adjective: "This food tastes delicious."
- he / she / it → -s: "Grandma looks great." · "The music sounds beautiful."
- I / you / we / they / plurals → no -s: "These roses smell lovely."
💬 "Sounds great!"
- A short way to say "That's a good idea!"
- A: "Let's go to the park after lunch." — B: "Sounds great!"
- You learned suggestions in Lesson 30: now you have a new answer!
No -ly after a sense verb! Say "It tastes delicious" ✅ — never "It tastes deliciously" ❌. And "I feel great" ✅ — not "I feel greatly" ❌.

💐 Complimenting People
A compliment is something positive you say about someone or something. It makes people happy! And when someone gives you a compliment, it is polite to say thank you.
💐 Give a compliment
- You look great!
- I love your drawing!
- Your new school bag is really nice!
- This soup tastes delicious!
- Your English sounds great!
🤔 Ask a question
- How do you do it?
- What's your secret?
- How do you stay healthy?
- What do you mean?
🙏 Say thank you
- Thanks!
- Thanks very much!
- Thank you, that's very kind of you!
- Thanks, but it's not a secret. I exercise and I eat well.
In Tunisia, when someone loves your food, you can hear "Saha!" In English, the cook simply says: "Thank you! I'm glad you like it." Never answer a compliment with "I know." — it sounds proud!
