🏠 Whose House Is That? — It's Ours!
A new unit: home! Today you will learn the parts of a house (bedroom, kitchen, balcony, yard…), say who owns things with possessive pronouns (mine, yours, his, hers, ours, theirs) and possessive nouns (Rayan's room, my parents' room), and ask "Whose…?"
Visiting Rayan's New House
Rayan's family has a new house in the neighborhood (Lesson 41). Nora comes to visit. Read the little scene below.

🙋 Possessive Adjectives And Pronouns
Possessive pronouns show who owns something. They replace a noun: "It's my bedroom." → "It's mine." Possessive adjectives are used in front of a noun.
Never put a noun after a possessive pronoun: "It's mine." ✅ — "It's mine bedroom." ❌. And there's no apostrophe in yours, hers, ours, theirs: "her's" ❌.
❓ Whose…?
- Use whose to ask who owns something.
- A: Whose beautiful yard is that? — B: It's ours.
- A: Whose bike is this? — B: It's Leo's. / It's his.

Look at the owner and choose the right possessive pronoun. 8 things!
✍️ Possessive Nouns
Possessive nouns also show ownership. They go in front of the thing they own, like a possessive adjective. Make a noun possessive by adding 's.
Rayan's bedroom is large. · This is my family's apartment.
My parents' bedroom has big windows. (just add ')
The children's bathroom is blue. (children, men, women + 's)
🛠️ The Apostrophe Workshop
Choose an owner and a room. Watch where the apostrophe goes!
Be careful: 's can also be the short form of is! "My family's apartment is large." = the apartment of my family. But "My family's large." = My family is large.
🔎 The 's Detector
Is the 's a possessive, or is it is? 8 sentences.
