Making a suggestion
When you want to do something with friends, you can make a suggestion. Here are two easy ways!
(1) Let's + verb
This is a simple way to suggest an activity.
Let's go to the zoo!
Let's play hide and seek.
(2) How about / What about + verb + ing
Remember to add -ING to the verb!
How about going to the park?
What about playing football?
⚠️ Let's + verb (Let's go) — How about / What about + verb + ing (How about going?)
💡 Après « Let's », le verbe reste simple. Après « How about / What about », on ajoute -ing et on met un point d'interrogation.
Look at the pictures. Read and choose the correct option
Remember: Let's + verb — How about / What about + verb + ing?
Let's… or How about / What about…?
Click on a suggestion, then click on the right box.
👉 Let's + verb
❓ How about / What about + verb-ing
Complete the suggestions
Use the verb in brackets. Remember the rules: Let's + verb and How about / What about + verb + ing.
Saying no politely
Sometimes you might need to say no to a suggestion. It's good to give a reason why! It's important to be polite even if you say no.
“The zoo is too far.” 🗺️ It's a long way.
“I am tired.” 😴 I have no energy.
